Tub-to-Shower Conversions in Murray

In a lot of Murray homes, the hall bath still has the tub it was built with. Here is what converting it to a walk-in shower involves, from the first cut to the glass.

How long will we be without a shower?

Panel-system tub-to-shower conversions typically take 1–2 days to install, depending on scope and existing conditions; tile showers take about a week. Demolition findings, plumbing work, required inspections, curing and door availability can affect the overall schedule. Ask us to confirm both the installation plan and when your shower will be usable.

Will a shower fit where my five-foot tub is now?

Almost always. Shower bases are made to fit the common 60-inch tub alcove, so most conversions use the same footprint. If you want to widen or deepen the space, we look at the framing and plumbing during the consultation.

Can you add a seat and grab bars?

Yes. Fold-down seats, corner seats, shelves and grab bars are all options. Grab bars need solid backing in the wall, so it pays to decide where they go before the walls are closed, even if you install them later.

What if you find water damage under the old tub?

We stop, show you what we found, and explain the fix and its cost before going further. It is far better to deal with it on demo day than to build a new shower over a soft floor.
